Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
Tried to fix it, but no solutions so far. Wildman Edit: Made some adjustments, but now all the light sensors (4) are blinking and he reacts now on the flash light. But he doesn't follow it now, he makes strange movements. See attachment for the software. I don't think this approach works. Or does an...

Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
I'm trying to improve the driving angle, so I started with some adding values etc. The software program is in the attachment. But it doesn't work any more. Only light sensor 1 (south) does react on a flash light (light sensor 1 is blinking, I don't know why). All the other light sensors (2/3/4 > Eas...

Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
Thanks for your reply.
I'm using 4 light sensors (Lego), in a angle of 90 degrees. Will you program work as well with 4 light sensors as with 2?
Thanks,
Wildman

Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
I have tested it, and it works quite well. Only some problems: -The accuracy (the angle) isn't perfect yet. He drives in to the direction of the light source, but it has a deviation. -If the light source is between two light sensors (between for example Nord and East), he isn't able to detect that/n...

Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
I have had some help and made this program (see print screens). http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/1993/program1from3.jpg http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/639/program2from3.jpg http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/2108/program3from3.jpg Tips/Suggestions/Idea's/Comments are welcome :D Thanks, Wildman

Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
Step 1: Start the program, by pressing a button on the Lego Mindstorms (done) Step 2: The robot needs to measure the light intensity (from the four Lego light sensors, which are in 90 degrees of each other) (trying, but stuck) Step 3: The robot needs to compare the measured values. (trying, but stuc...

Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
Yes, that is correct. The angle between the four sensors are 90 degrees (the sensors "look" in all directions). "Have you been able to determine what small steps are needed to lead to the final solution?" You mean, how to program it or? "The Lego language is also known as NX...

Re: Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
Hi Dave, Thanks for your comment. That is very useful. One comment, I don't want the robot to rotate. It needs to measure (continual) during driving and adjust the driving direction. It needs to measure and compare the values and choose the direction with the highest light intensity (using 4 light s...

Lego Mindstorms NXT working on solar energy
Hello, I'm a student from The Netherlands. I'm in Gymnasium 6 (VWO 6) and have a assignment. I'm making a Lego Mindstorms NXT which is working on solar energy. The robot needs to detect the highest light source and drive to it so the robot can "recharge" himself. We have equipped 3 solar p...
