I see! So it's pretty lame software then, really!
Well thanks - that's very helpful.
NXC - will have to start researching that!

NXT-G 2.0 Weirdness (errors, disappearing program etc)
My son is running into all kinds of odd behavior in the software. When he builds up a fairly large program (consisting mainly of switches) he starts running into errors like; - he moves or tries to add a block and gets "Cannot find terminal hotpoint in wire" (apparently a known bug) - the ...

Re: Troubleshooting issues with NXT 2.0 Robot
Quite odd. My son tried changing the color selector to include the full blue spectrum plus black, but this did not apparently work out. It would detect black when nothing was right in front of the sensor. Then he put the selectors back to just blue and it is not working as expected...I don't get it....

Re: Troubleshooting issues with NXT 2.0 Robot

Re: Troubleshooting issues with NXT 2.0 Robot
Tried posting the *.rbt file, but it doesn't upload. No error or anything - just nothing uploads.
Any suggestions where I might post it - I don't have a website or access to a publicly viewable one?
Anyone happy for me to email it to them?
Cheers

Re: Troubleshooting issues with NXT 2.0 Robot
Thanks so much for you answer - really appreciate it. So it's not unheard of to have even a simple robot and simple program misbehave...that's actually good to know! Is this forum a good place to upload a program and have someone look at it? My son's current bot/program basically grabs balls of diff...

Troubleshooting issues with NXT 2.0 Robot
Hi, I just joined the forum - mainly on behalf of my son. I'm starting off with a general question - if a robot/program does not behave as expected, or behaves inconsistently, what's the best approach to figuring out if it's a programming problem or a problem with the NXT itself? I have tried to com...
