Re: Building large wheels

Hey, I'm working on a new LEGO project and am in need of some nice big wheels (at least the size of CDs , if not a few inches larger. Well, I have just the thing for you! I put these together almost a year ago but haven't done much with them since. I'm sure you have plenty of scratched or useless s...

Re: Test your driving skills at MoonBase Lego

Very cool! I gave it a try but I think my 750 ms ping time was working against me as it was nearly impossible to control because of the lag. However, I watched other people drive it and it seemed to work very well. Is the webcam on the rover wired or wireless? How about batteries? How often have you...

Re: Autonomous RC Tank controlled by a NXT brick

I really love Wii periperals, they are so hacker friendly !! I agree! ooops, didn't recognize that wii thing, srry  That's fine, we all miss things every once in while. Your tank has been featured on the Hack-A-Day blog, congrats! (I probably waste far too much time on Hack-A-Day... over an h...

Re: Autonomous RC Tank controlled by a NXT brick

how is the tank detecting a target? !!! I've also added an IR Camera hacked from a WiiMote, which allows it to track and lock on targets (a simple IR LED) and then fire plastic pellets at it... I vote that we put up a PayPal fund called the "Get Doc a new pair of glasses fund" :). Serious...

Re: Smaller site header

too much work to do ;) If you have the time to program neural networks and for all your other programming, I'm sure you'd have time to switch browsers. When I got a new computer this summer, it only took me about half an hour to install a new browser and move five years of bookmarks and history from...

Re: NXT Enhanced Firmware

Can I upgrade my firmware with John Hansen's Enhanced firmware? will this overwrite my 1.05? How should I behave in this situation? Welcome to the forums! haydenstudios did reply to most of your questions, but I thought I'd clarify a bit. Installing the enhanced firmware version 1.31 will overwrite...

Re: Battery life of "idle" NXT?

While it is a very cool concept, I just don't see it being very practical. If you were using smaller voltages (i.e. single LiPo cell at 3.7V, or something like this ) it might work, albeit with some significant efficiency issues. I haven't seen many inductive charging projects that are made for, or ...

Re: Battery life of "idle" NXT?

You may find Pulito , the sweeping robot interesting. All it has to do is bump up to the charging station to charge. If I was to replicate this, I'd stick the charger bars top to bottom, instead of side to side, so that it would be able to charge from a completely round charging station, making dock...

Re: NXT Bluetooth - line is busy

I would give the MINDdroid app a try. It's the "official" Android>NXT app so I imagine that it should work :D. Also, it might be helpful to know which phone and Android OS you are using.
