Re: BrickCON: Anyone going?
I saw you Gus! I was the boy in the bright orange Beaver T-Shirt (probably don't remember with all the people hanging around there ). You should have introduced yourself! I have a bit of a system overload so as far as I can tell half the people there had orange Beaver T-shirts on. I assume you are ...

Re: BrickCON: Anyone going?
I will be there both Saturday and Sunday demonstrating some LEGO robots. Mainly I will have some of the robots that I have designed for HiTechnic there but I also have some other robots that I have built through the years. David Schilling and Mark Kenworthy will also be there as well as some student...

Re: Update frequency of the Hitechnic compass sensor
Thank you, Xander, for answering this.According to HT, it runs at about 80Hz (12.5mS per cycle).

This is about as fast as you can read the I2C sensor on the NXT so you should get an updated value every time you read the sensor.

Re: New from HiTechnic: Angle and Magnetic Sensors
1000 rpm - does it mean, you can read 1000*360/60= 6000 different angle counts each second? No... it means you can reliably get an RPM reading of up to 1000 RPM (but like I said, I believe it can actually go much higher). The Angle sensor is a digital I2C sensor so the fastest you can read the sens...

Re: New from HiTechnic: Angle and Magnetic Sensors
What is the Max. rpm it is able to handle? Officially the RPM range is -1000 to 1000 RPM though I have tested this well beyond that range. Gearing it up a couple of times I was able to get RPM readings beyond 6000RPM without any reason to suspect that it is not accurate. Note: HiTechnic does not wa...

Re: New from HiTechnic: Angle and Magnetic Sensors
The sensor packaging is really not bad or difficult to work with. The axle hole is centered on the end cap which is exactly two units higher than the level of mounting holes on the bottom of the sensor. Here is one simple way to get mounting holes lined up with the input axle: AngleSensorMount.jpg I...

New from HiTechnic: Angle and Magnetic Sensors
First of all... hooray to John, Steve, Brian, and Xander for getting this forum started. Way to go, guys! Secondly, full disclosure, I work for HiTechnic but I am posting here not so much to promote our products but rather to give some inside and technical information as a service to the readers of ...
