First test starts part way along the blue section so lower half of the 'blue' spectrum is excluded.
Even if the ball is blue it might not be recognised.
Troubleshooting issues with NXT 2.0 Robot

A sophistical rhetorician, inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity, and gifted with an egotistical imagination that can at all times command an interminable and inconsistent series of arguments to malign an opponent and to glorify himself.

Quite odd. My son tried changing the color selector to include the full blue spectrum plus black, but this did not apparently work out. It would detect black when nothing was right in front of the sensor. Then he put the selectors back to just blue and it is not working as expected...I don't get it. It does have new batteries, perhaps that has something to do with it. At any rate, he's happy for the time being!

That doesn't surprise me. It is not good to have your robot look for the color black if it's not going to be purposefully looking at nothing. The color sensor reads black by default unless something of a different color is placed in front of it, so it's not good to have it respond to black if it's looking for something blue. But as others may have said, the color sensor is not 100% reliable. The lighting in the room may also have an effect on the robot's readings.paulharv66 wrote:My son tried changing the color selector to include the full blue spectrum plus black, but this did not apparently work out.
