Is there any effort to coordinate EV3 sensor type IDs?

Post by dlech27 »

I am referring to https://github.com/mindboards/ev3source ... ea39d00802

I am wondering if LEGO has an "official" list (other than https://github.com/mindboards/ev3source ... pedata.rcf) or if the Mindstorms hacker community has started an "unofficial" list or if this is as far as anyone has got.

Has anyone picked any values for other manufacturers besides Hi-Technic?

If there is no such thing and others are interested in coordinating their efforts, I would volunteer to maintain one.

Straight from the sources:
http://python-ev3.org/types.html
Basically that's the same thing you linked, then. So what is it you're asking?

Right. Part of it is "straight from the sources". It contains all of the LEGO brand sensors. But the first link is a file that looks to be made John Hansen. It assigns type numbers (the first column) for all/most of the Hi-Technic I2C sensors. I am just wondering if anyone has assigned type numbers to any other sensors and if anyone cares what those numbers are.
