The "fantom" library could not be loaded. Make sure the official Mindstorms NXT driver is installed correctly!

when trying to connect using the USB or the Bluetooth. I already uninstalled and and installed the driver about 4 times. I'm using Win 7 Ultimate x64 and Matlab R2008b, RWTH toolbox 4.04. I'd really appreciate some help.
I have never tried to use RWTH toolbox, but you said you "uninstalled and and installed the driver about 4 times", and that you are using a W7 64bit system. I use the same OS, and it requires a specific driver (not the one from Lego). The "generic" NXT driver from lego will usually work to some extent on the system, but totally unreliably. You need to be sure that the computer can connect before trying to have the program connect. If you don't have the proper drivers, then you will not find complete success, no matter what NXT requiring software you are using.
This problem you're having is a mixture of 64bit, MATLAB, and/or the Fantom driver. There's nothing we (the developers) can do at the moment. Try using a 32bit version of MATLAB on Windows 64bit, or even downgrade to some 32bit OS. We've got working Linux Live DVDs, based on Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.10 (there was a kernel bug with 10.10 and Bluetooth though).
