Tic tac toe playing robot

Post by linusa »

We've seen tic tac toe playing robots before. In this one, I like the idea of turning the whole board (it's the first time I've seen this approach). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBHVmMNIiSk

Isn't this Danny Benedettelli's tic tac robot, from his LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT Thinking Robots book? I made it just after Christmas. As you say, a neat design, although quite fiddly to calibrate.

I just built the tic tac toe robot from the thinking robot book and can not get it to run correctly. Down loaded the software from Danny Benedettelli's web site and up graded the firmware to the newest 1.31 from LEGO.

It wont run consistenly and mis places the balls most times. I also can not get the calibrating software to run at all. There is not a-cal file showing either. :?

I want to use it at the club meeting this Saturday for the kids to play with so I would really like to get it fixed, help requested.

thanks Jim

Here's my version of a Tic tac toe playing robot. It's an up-sized version of Danny Benedettelli's bot.

I built it for two reason with large balls:
  • I didn't have the coloured Zamour Balls
And I wanted to make it easy for PreSchool Children to use in a school demo
