Even indispensable to have for the EV3!
For the NXT this it is and ever was an ancient urgently needed feature, but currently available are just cruel poorly documented cumbersome basic low level functions, thus a still unresolved issue for the NXT!
No daisy chaining by easy + trouble-free C-based communication commands - no EV3.
