Could you make an option in NXT screen where it shows the 2 frames before it also, and displays all 3 frames at 33% opacity? That way, I could view pictures and games as 4 level grayscale. I mean, would it be that hard? I would really like it. Then I could show others my grayscale pictures/games.

That's not going to be possible.

Either the tool would need something like 5ms update rates, or you would need multiple buffers on the NXT (huge FW changes). Either one would take a re-design of the NXT screen tool for displaying the gray-scale.

Well, you don't have to change the refresh rate. Just leave it how it is, at 50 ms refresh rate for NXTScreen. Please??

What, are you saying you don't want gray-scale anymore? I was saying, that if you want gray-scale, one of the possible ways to achieve it is by updating at much faster than 50ms. Otherwise, you will need multiple screen buffers on the NXT.

Basically, it's impractical to do gray-scale over USB (to say the least).

That's why I said to display 3 frames(Current frame, and 2 frames before) of the NXT on NXTScreen, all at 33% opacity.

Right. In order to make that work, your would need to sync your frames with the program running on your computer. You would also need to store the 3 frames somewhere.

It could just store the 3 frames in a file or something

So it doesn't need to be real-time?
