hey,
does anybody know how to convert a html internet website into a word file *.doc? Including all pictures, graphs, and so on?
e.g.
http://paulbourke.net/miscellaneous/dft/

everytime I tried it resulted in loosing all formula charts and graphs.
I used the firefox or IE menu file...save as,
I selected a certain folder, and saved it.
I could see a html file and an additional folder containing additional files.
But opening it with word I only coud see pure next, nothing else.

Any ideas...?

Works for me...

Firefox: File | Save As [web page, complete]

Open .htm file in Word. Pictures are present.

Save As [Word 97-2003 document *.doc]

I've (hopefully) attached the file, but renamed to .txt as .doc isn't allowed. Hope this doesn't annoy anyone. Apologies if it does.....

Ian.

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit, Firefox 3.6.28, Office 2010

P.S. If you'd be happy with a .pdf, then any of the 'print to pdf' programs would be another way to do this.

Hmmmm..... so it does. It seems the word doc is just linking to the pictures. I assumed it would include them in the file.

Print-to-pdf applications will work for any windows app; they 'pretend' to be a printer driver, so that you can select them just as you would choose a different printer, but then produce a .pdf file. The one I use is called CutePDF Writer. I've hopefully attached the results I got using it on your original web page.

that's fine, thank you!
How did you make the printer "print" the website?
Copy and Paste?
Or print menu of the browser and then choose the pdf printer to print/save?

In Chrome I can simply save as PDF in the print menu. I am pretty sure Windows 7 and 8 both have the print to PDF option as well.

The latter.

Install Cute PDF Writer
Go to webpage
Firefox | File | Print
Select 'Cute PDF Writer' as the printer.
'OK'
You should get prompted for a file name/location.

Interesting that Chrome has this built in. I suppose that newer versions of Firefox/IE may have as well....

hey, thank you - but this installation went wrong two times.
A pdf document was saved to my HD but it could not be opened by Adobe reader or Word (pdf extension): "file demaged".
But I will now look for different pdf printers I'm sure I'll find one which will work.

You're not trying to print documents with crazy long words like "Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz" and "Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkauunterbeamtengesellschaft", are you? That would probably cause a buffer overflow somewhere.
