LeoCAD on Linux

I'm trying to get LeoCAD running on LinuxMint (Ubuntu Clone), but have run into a problem:

LeoCAD has some very old Debian/Ubuntu Linux installation files which are available at http://www.sslug.dk/~grove/ (dating back to 2005). Does anyone know if later DEB versions are available? Preferably amd64 versions, as I run a 64Bit Box.

As a result of the age of the Linux LeoCAD files, I decide to compile my own LeoCAD. I've compiled LeoCAD by following the LeoCAD Compiling Guide. The Source Compiled & Installed without any problems. LeoCAD fires up with the Lego Parts Libraries and I can use the Minifig Wizard with no issues. But when I attempt to open an LDraw file, I just get a blank canvas.

Has anyone had success with LeoCAD on a (64Bit) Linux Box? Any help would be very appreciated.

Sparra,

You could just compile it on a 32 bit box and run it as a 32bit app on your 64 bit box. That might fix a lot of your issues. A lot of older libraries were not made to be compiled for 64 bit, they make certain size assumptions which work until they're no longer used on a 32 bit system. I've seen this problem many times in the past when 64 bit machines were not as common as they are now.
