Run Snap! on your Ev3 and BrickPi

Post by sharived »

Have you ever wanted to use Snap! with your Ev3? We have created a new camera called RoboSnap that is able to detect colored objects, the approximate size and shape of the objects and take low resolution images so that you can see what RoboSnap sees. In addition to the camera features, RoboSnap can be used with Snap!, Scratch, Python and C. Please help bring RoboSnap into reality by supporting our kickstarter. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ro ... your-robot Some examples of running with Snap! can be found on our Wiki https://github.com/10Imaging/RoboSnap/w ... er-example

There was a lot of excitement about having a Scratch like programming language for Ev3 when we demonstrated it at the San Mateo Maker Faire. So we just added a new reward to our Kickstarter campaign so you can get "JUST THE SOFTWARE" to allow you to run Snap! on your Ev3. Check it out here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ro ... your-robot

sounds as if it's not programmable by the original Lego EV3 GUI software blocks (EV3-G == X3 )

You are correct. It does not currently work with the EV3 GUI Software although we still hoping to support it in the future.

as it will be plugged to the EV3-USB-host-port:
in what respect does it interfere with 3 additionally USB daisy-chained bricks?
will it be connected then via a USB hub ?

I haven't tried daisy chaining bricks before, but I assume it will work with a hub. I'll try it and confirm.
