Hello! I'm thinking about having a Linux OS on one of my computers, but I want to know if there's a NXT-G Type programming language/environment that's available for Linux. Does NXT-G itself support Linux some how? I really just want a Graphic based programming environment, so something like MSRS, or NXT-G would be awesome!

NXT-G Type Programming Environment for Linux?
Re: NXT-G Type Programming Environment for Linux?
NXT-G does not run on Linux. If you're keen to have Linux on your system, why not use Virtual Box to play around with it. It's like VMware Workstation only free. I've used it quite a lot in the past and it's quite nice. Conversely, you could run Windows in a virtual environment on Virtual Box and use Linux as your host. However, that may not perform so well. If you don't mind switching between Linux and Windows, you can run Ubuntu from a normal Windows partition. I've done that and it's quite nice.
Is there a specific reason you want to use Linux on your system? I've used Linux for more than 16 years now (14+ of those in a professional context) but would rather poke an eye out (not necessarily my own, mind you) than run it on my desktop.

Re: NXT-G Type Programming Environment for Linux?
hey thanks! I might try that out. I want to use Linux because I saw some NXT software that ONLY uses Linux (like NXTalk for one). I also think that if I learn Linux, and might be able to become a Computer IT guy! lol!

"Computer IT guy", haha, wow, nice and generic! That's usually what I tell people I do right after I watch their eyes glaze over after I first I tell them I'm a "Technical Infrastructure Architect".
You could also use NXC on Linux as well as Lejos.
