Repository

Post by aagruntpuddock »

I understand the reasons why it is not possible to recover the old nxtasy repository (except what can be gleaned unofficially from http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.nxtasy.org ).

Are there any plans to start a new one here so that code snippets, etc can be collected and do not get lost?

Most of the other Lego NXT sites seem to be fading away as people move on to other interests.

Soon there will be nowhere for showoffs like me enthusiasts to post things

A thread about this every month... Perhaps it should get pinned.

Not familiar with all this 'net stuff, I can see http://mindboards.net/NXTG, but how does one post to it?

One doesn't but four do and I am one of them. This site was specifically setup without a single point of failure. If one of the four people stops being interested in NXT (which I doubt since all four of us are in the MCP4 but you never know), there are still three others that have equal privileges to modify things and do whatever is needed to keep this community going. This was not the case with NXTasy. There was only one guy, Eric, who had all the access, nobody else had that, so when he left, we were left with nothing.

Well, that makes sense!

Do you want users to put stuff (code, diagrams, etc) in one particular thread/ post or are the posts monitored and anything you consider worth keeping copied to the 'repository'?

Is there a link to there on the site? I only found out about it because of a comment in one of the posts.
