Bluetooth troubles in NXT-G

Post by zemata »

Running windows 7, just bought this dongle http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-USB-Mic ... 803&sr=8-1

I got the NXT brick to connect to my PC. The icon on the brick is <> and my bluetooth program sees it connected BUT NXT-G cannot find my brick when I click scan. I've restarted the program, the brick, deleted all the connections and nothing. Help!

Try turning on the Bluetooth on the NXT brick itself. When you first turn on the NXT, go to the left until you find the bluetooth icon. "Click" that, and it should only have one option.

Hope this helps!

Perhaps you should check that you have the latest Lego Fantom driver, available at

Yeah none of this helps. Of course I have bluetooth turned on on the NXT brick and the drivers you linked me to are firmware updates for the brick it says.

I have a bunch of dongles like this. The ONLY ones that work well are the ones with the CSR chipset. (see here:http://mindstorms.lego.com/en-us/bluetooth/default.aspx under dongles).

I would recommend searching out one of those. It would be your best use of time and money.

Im having a hard time finding a CSR dongle online. Could you point me towards one that you know works, or one that works and has a high MB per second rate? Preferrably from amazon as I plan to order ore servos there.

The second link is the exact one that I bought. Are there specific drivers I need to have it work well with mindstorms? This is so frustrating!

Ok guys thanks for the advice. Just popping in one last time to say it's working now. I can get into my brick wirelessly from NXT-G :D. My problem was after I installed the latest drivers, I didn't try connecting from NXT-G, but I kept trying to connect from the brick!
